UGAA Past President
After receiving a diploma from Seneca College for Recreational Programming and Parks Management in ’91, Brad enrolled in the Associate Diploma program at U of G, specializing in Horticulture. Graduating a full-fledged "Dipper" in ’93A, he transferred to the Horticultural Science and Business program, and graduated with honours in ’97.
During his six years at Guelph, Brad was heavily involved with residence living, especially Interhall Council. He lived in Lennox/Addington for three years, Prairie Hall for two, and in one of the Grad Houses (the little white bungalow behind L/A for the last year). Brad never did live off campus while at Guelph. Positions held include L/A Hall President, Interhall Council Vice President and Chairman, CSA Chief Electoral Officer, Judicial Committee Chair, HRSAC Advisory Committee, University Centre Administration Committee and South Residences Programmer. Brad was a co-chair for the GLACURH conference hosted by Interhall, as well as a Tour Guide for four years.
After leaving Guelph, Brad returned to work in the Horticulture industry with White Rose Nurseries, moving to Weall and Cullen, and finally to his current job as Sales Representative for South Western Ontario for Sheridan Nurseries Ltd. Brad is currently on the Advisory Committee for his Seneca College program, which meets twice a year.
Brad lives in Brooklin, Ontario with his wife, who he met while at Guelph. She was also enrolled in the Horticultural Science program. The Rooneys have two daughters, Ainsley Laurel and Tressa Grace. They vacation at their family cottage in St. Ola, Ontario (1.5 hours north of Belleville), but never get there often enough.
