Elizabeth Thomson is a communications professional and writer in Guelph. Obtaining both her degrees from the University of Guelph, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in 1997 and finishing her Masters of Arts in History in 1999. She then went on to complete a Corporate Communications post-graduate certificate at Sheridan College in 2001.
Elizabeth has worked for several local communications agencies as a copy writer, project manager and account director, and runs her own freelance business, BrayLyn Communications. Much of her freelance work involves script writing and video production, helping local colleges and universities, not-for-profits and companies market to their target audience.
After serving two years on the UGAA, Elizabeth joined the Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) team at the University of Guelph. Her current role is assisting the major gift team in developing proposals, stewardship reports and tailored communications for high level donors.
Elizabeth is passionate about sustainability both personally and professionally. As a mother of three, she believes it takes all actions, big and small to help protect this world for the next generation. Her interests here, is what led her back to the university to support the Better Planet Project; first as an alumna, then as a volunteer and now as a committed member of the AA&D staff.
