Michael J. Lockhart is marketing communications professional and journalist in Toronto.
Currently holding dual roles at Environics Communications and its sister agency, Agnostic Digital; Michael brings over five years’ experience in content marketing strategy and digital publishing experience. He currently manages content and social media strategy and development for blue chip clients including: Panasonic, Air Miles, Kijiji (eBay), RB Pharmaceuticals, and Boehringer Ingelheim.
Prior to joining Environics/Agnostic, Michael was a Creative Content Editor and Staff Writer at Playboy.com (US, UK, Canada, Oceania), where he was responsible for the editorial management of the entertainment, politics, automotive, and business verticals during the PG-13 re-launch of the 27 million unique visitors per month website. In addition to this, Michael worked within the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw during the 2011 European Union Presidency where he provided communications support, policy research, and speech writing services at the ambassadorial and ministerial levels.
Michael holds a MSc in Strategic Studies from the University of Aberdeen (UK), a BAA in Media Studies from the University of Guelph, and has completed the Advanced Print & Broadcast Journalism program at Humber College. He is a former three-term Senator, Student Senate Caucus Co-Chair, Vice President Academics, and Last Lecture Speaker at the University of Guelph. Michael received the Alumni of Distinction Award from the University of Guelph-Humber in 2014.
Michael is currently a second-year Director on University of Guelph Alumni Association Board, and is an appointed Ambassador for the Royal Ontario Museum’s Board of Governors.
